I really cannot count the number of times I have been Faced with the overwhelming temptation to just “GIVE UP” and throw in the towel, I’m sure you can relate to those moments when you ask yourself, what’s the point anyway? this thing isn’t even working out, I am just not good enough. when you feel like giving up or the ugly thought of throwing in the towel rears its head  remind yourself of the following.

I feel like this is the most important and first step in any of “life’s marathon events” or anything at all that requires considerable effort and time, it needs to be worth it. You straight up need to get your priorities right, don’t invest so much energy and time in trivial stuff that you know isn’t worth it. Avoid being driven by negative emotions, vendetta or unhealthy competition. As the saying goes “anything worth doing at all is worth doing well”. We can then infer that anything not worth doing well is not worth doing at all.

there are over 7 billion people on earth and a large number of them have this same testimony “the beginning is always the hardest”. That alone should steer your spirit up in the right direction, the beginning is always frustrating, there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re not some unfortunate person that life has refused to smile upon. This is what Michael Jordan had to say :
“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.”You just need to try again, strategize, unlearn or re-learn  if need be but don’t stop, if you believe in it keep pushing and you would find that it gets much easier with time.

practice makes perfection, whoever coined that expression needs a handshake right now because it’s so true. The more you try, the better you become, the more you press on , the more you get people to believe in your dream, really, it just gets better. So just hang in there.

life is not going to hand you anything on a platter, if you want to be successful, you are going to have to work for it. It’s just a natural law of nature, it’s not unique to you as an individual. Everything worthwhile takes time, effort, energy, brain work etc. No venture can become a success story overnight, it takes sweat, blood, grit and determination. So, Read more, write more, know more, work hard and prove your detractors wrong.

The world won’t stop spinning if you give up, it will go on with or without you, Just because you are tired and want to give up doesn’t mean that earth will stop rotating on its axis, or the sun would stop shining, nope! Life goes on, someone else out there with more drive and determination will probably get hold of your idea and make something out of it. I know this sounds harsh, but its the truth, when you feel like giving up remember this.

At the end of it all, if you persevere you’ll just be glad you didn’t stop. Regret is one of the worst feelings in the world, it sits right next to heart-break. So when you fee like giving up remember that, you don’t want to go through life with such a weight on your chest and the feelings of “what if”? When you insist life has no option but to answer.

Yea right go on and quit trying already, give up on  it, let it go. This may sound contradictory but it’s not. There are certain things in our lives that just aren’t meant to be. Certain relationships, jobs, friendships or things we want for ourselves would never materialize the way we want them to, no matter how hard we wish or try to make them work. Knowing when to say “I quit” is also a sign of strength. Sometimes giving up on one thing opens you up to other more wonderful things. We must know when to say enough. It  is really important to be able to make clear distinctions between things that can be fixed with reasonable effort and perseverance and things that are not worth the effort so when you feel like giving up you may be right.

to walk a part you have never walked before you must seek guidance from one who has walked the path...anonymous

I feel like that says it all. When you feel like giving up, feel stuck, stranded or lost in your idea or task, consider seeking guidance from more experienced individuals or people who have an idea of what you are going through. Seek out support groups and encouragement platforms, you may just find the strength and insight you need to carry on.

When you feel like giving up

We all know how tough it is to see our goals through, how hard it is to hold on to our dreams, family or relationships, when it seems like every cell in our body just wants to stop trying. At such times we must consider all of these and then decide how we want our history to be shaped.

Please feel free to share your experiences and struggles and how you found the strength to keep at it, in the most difficult and challenging times it may save a soul.

Cheers! 🙂

  3. I couldn’t agree more. I was a single mom to two kids until I met my husband 5 years ago. There are so many times I wanted to surrender but each time I tried there’s always someone or something that tells me to keep trying. I believe in signs. But I also believe in fate.

  4. I love the one about being glad you didn’t give up after you get through whatever it is. It’s so true! You’ll feel so strong/brave/smart/accomplished after getting through your tough venture.

  16. I found this very inspiring and motivating as well. Quitting is harder than starting again. And before quitting, just think first why you started.
