Ask yourself the following question: “Who is the most important person in my life?” If the answer is anyone other than yourself, you’re not very good at this.

You are the most important person in your life, and everyone else comes after. This is why treating yourself whenever you feel like doing so is of the utmost importance. It’s not as easy as it sounds, though, as it requires a lot of time, money, and it can be a little selfish, especially when you have other important things to do. However, there are small ways in which you should be able to treat yourself without feeling guilty.

Surprise yourself with a new hairdo

Treat yourself

Having a new hairstyle can seriously enhance your self-confidence, and improve your mood in an instant. This should not be something you have to think about in great lengths, but whenever you feel like changing the color or the length of your hair – feel free to do it. Remember that it’s quite easy to turn it back the way it was (if you had it cut, don’t worry, it will be long in no time).

Get a massage

Treat yourself

Massages are something that we all love in theory, but we somehow tend to forget about them in real life. That’s why you should definitely book a massage right now, and not feel guilty about it. Not only will you be treating yourself with a great present, but you will also be more relaxed and ready to get back to your everyday stressful obligations.

Shop till you drop

Treat yourself

Why would you feel guilty for buying the things that you love? Even though your wallet will cry a bit (that’s inevitable), your inner shopaholic will be forever thankful. After all, that’s why you work, isn’t it? To have enough funds to provide yourself with whatever you want. That is why the next time you see a T-shirt that you like, get it for yourself as a reward – you deserve it.

Get inked (if its your thing)

Treat yourself

If getting a cool tattoo is something that you’ve wanted for a long time, perhaps this is the moment when you should finally say “yes” to this decision. As getting Japanese tattoos in Sydney  is a great way to treat yourself, also this is your chance to get some unique yet fashionable ink on your body. Also, bearing in mind that a lot of people opt for these, it could be great motivation for you to have one, as well.

Get a piercing(if its your thing)

Treat yourself

Speaking of tattoos – piercings are also cool, right? Many people tend to put them into the same category, even though getting a piercing is definitely not undoable. Since it’s quite easy to take the piercing out, getting the one that you’ve wanted since you were a teenager might be a good idea. There is a plethora of choices to choose from – some can even look both casual and quite sexy (such as the tragus piercing).

Taking up a sport

Treat yourself

Yes, for many people, this option would be a daunting experience, but if you’re a sporty person and simply don’t have time to devote to your favorite sport – this is for you. Do it. You know you’ll be a happier person if you do the things that you love, and you can easily take two or three hours every week to practice tennis, football, or any other sports activity that you find interesting.

See the world

Treat yourself

Even though this requires a lot of money and time to organize, it is definitely one of the best presents you can give yourself. Not only is it relaxing, it’s also quite educational, as you get to learn more about different cultures and diverse people. Allocate your budget, browse online and try to find the best options for your trip. It could either be a weekend trip to a nearby city or a week-long holiday to an exotic destination. Everything depends on your budget and the time you have on your hands.

Get your nails done

Treat yourself

Mani-pedis! Such a small thing can greatly improve your mood and self-confidence. And honestly, nothing feels better than having your nails fresh! On the plus side, this process requires no more than an hour, and it’s a small price to pay for the feeling you will get afterwards.

Netflix and chill

Treat yourself

It seems that we love spending time in front of a screen watching our favorite characters making the same mistakes over and over again, but it also seems that we really don’t have time for that. Since this is an activity that we love to indulge in the most, perhaps it could be a great idea to make a Netflix and chill night just for you. Turn off your phone, make popcorn and there you go!

Spend quality time with your friends

Treat yourself

It happens that we feel quite selfish when we have to do things for ourselves, but inviting our best friends to share those moments with us might make the whole selfishness emotion go away. Make sure to choose the friends who always make you laugh and who are positive, as that is the only way you can actually treat yourself.
If you happen to watch the hit TV show Parks and Recreation, then you know that Donna and Tom introduced October 13th as the “Treat Yo Self Day”. Now, you don’t even have to plan when to do these things for yourself – you already have the date picked! Good luck, and know that being selfish is sometimes a great thing.

  1. Thank you for reminding me to treat myself more often! ☺️ Being a mom means you are always the last on your list of people to take care of. Just recently I got eyelash extensions and you won’t believe how that small thing boost my self confidence. So yes to pampering to me!!! ☺️

    • Yay! So glad you did that. Moms are the absolute best, our guardian angels, true life super heroes. You deserve a treat as often as possible. Belated happy mothers day to you.

  2. Self care is very important! I never used to want to spend money on myself and now I make sure I get regular massages and take 1-2 good vacations a year. You definitely need these moments to recharge and refresh.
